Introduction: Fahrenheit 451

Fahrenheit 451 was written by Ray Bradbury in 1953. This book talks about a city in the future where books are illegal and the firemen's primary job is to go around and burn books. Bradbury wrote the book during the McCarthy era, when censorship was starting to be a problem and the threat of eradicating books was rising. Ray Bradbury took quite some time to name his book but he finally found the name when he figured out what the temperature for burning paper was Fahrenheit 451.

I chose this book because when I went to go ask Ms. Hall, the school librarian, what would be a good book for this project, this is what she gave me. She said that she thought it would be perfect for me because it has a lot of suspense and it will keep me wanting more.
